If your Beako™ Smart Bird Feeder isn’t powering on after inserting the battery don’t worry, we got you covered. In this guide, we’ll walk you through a few simple checks and easy solutions to get your feeder powered up so you can get back to enjoying your birdwatching experience.
Powering on Your Beako™ Smart Bird Feeder
Behind the feeder body you will see two rubber protectors, one of the rubber protectors has a Power ⏻ symbol, pry the protector open to locate the power button. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Note: Make sure that the battery is fully charged and connected into the Beako™ Smart Bird Feeder before powering on.
Check for MicroSD Card
If your Beako™ Smart Bird Feeder does not power on and you’ve installed a microSD card in the feeder, please remove it temporarily and try turning the Beako™ on again.
Clean the Battery Contacts
Use a dry tissue or soft cloth to gently clean the battery contacts inside the feeder. This helps ensure a clean connection.
Tips: To clean the contacts, locate the six gold battery contacts on the pack. The simplest method is to wipe them with a dry, lint-free cloth or tissue. For best results, use a cotton swab lightly moistened with rubbing alcohol. Be sure to clean each contact one by one.
Power On Without Solar Panel
Disconnect the solar panel, insert the fully charged battery, and check if the Beako™ powers on (the blue light should turn on with a startup chime). If it does not power on, press the power button to try starting the Beako™.
Try USB-C Charging
If the Beako™ still doesn’t respond, connect a USB-C charging cable directly to the feeder and then press the power button to see if it powers on normally.
If your Beako™ powers on successfully, please reinsert the microSD card and reconnect the solar panel. Monitor the device via the Kiwibit App to ensure that everything is functioning correctly. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to us.
