Account Setup
I'm not receiving the verification code email. What should I do?
If you're not receiving the verification code, please try the following:
- Check your spam or junk folder
- Make sure the email address was entered correctly
- If possible, try a different email address (some email providers may block automated emails)
If you still don't receive the code, please contact our support team.
Can I use my Beako™ feeder without creating an account?
No. An account is required to set up and use the Beako™ Smart Bird Feeder.
Your account allows you to:
- Access live view and recordings
- Receive notifications
- Share the device with family members
- Manage subscriptions and AI features
Device Setup
What Wi-Fi network does Beako™ support?
Beako™ supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks only. It does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
If your router uses both bands, make sure you are setting up the feeder on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
The QR code won't scan. What should I do?
You normally don't need to scan any QR code or barcode during setup.
Beako™ is usually set up automatically using Bluetooth. As long as Bluetooth permission is enabled on your phone, setup should be quick and doesn't require scanning anything.
If the Bluetooth connection doesn't work, the app may guide you to an alternative setup method using a QR code. In this case, the feeder's camera scans a QR code shown on your phone screen.
The feeder keeps beeping during setup. What does that mean?
Repeated beeping usually means the feeder is in pairing mode or waiting for a network connection.
If it keeps beeping:
- Confirm your Wi-Fi password is correct
- Make sure you are using a 2.4GHz network
- Restart the setup process in the app
Sharing & Multi-User Access
How can I share my Beako™ feeder with family members?
You can share your Beako™ feeder with family members through the Kiwibit app. For step-by-step instructions, see:
Can two people watch the feeder at the same time?
Shared users can view the feeder, but one account cannot be logged in on multiple phones at the same time. Each person will need their own Kiwibit account.
What does shared device access allow someone to do?
Shared users can:
- View live video
- Watch recorded clips
They cannot:
- Change device settings
- Mange subscriptions
- Remove the device from your account
Subscriptions & AI Features
Do I need a subscription for Beako™ to work?
No. The feeder works without a subscription for basic features like live view.
A subscription is required for:
- AI bird identification
- Smart notifications and insights
- Extended cloud video storage
I bought (or received) a Beako™ feeder with built-in AI. Why is the app asking me to subscribe?
Some Beako™ feeders include AI Identification built in, which is activated using a redeem code included in the box.
If your feeder includes AI Identification:
- Look for a redeem code on a card or sheet inside the packaging
- Open the Kiwibit app
- Go to About Kiwibit
- Tap Redeem Code and enter the code
Once the code is redeemed, AI features will be unlocked on your account.
If you don't see a redeem code, or you're not sure whether your feeder includes built-in AI:
- Check your order details, or
- Contact our support team with your order number so we can help confirm and activate it if applicable.
How do I know if AI bird identification is active?
If AI bird identification is active, you'll see a "Kiwibit Plus" section on your Account page.
When AI is active, identified bird species will also appear in your activity feed.
Using Beako™ Day to Day
How do I view the live stream?
Open the Kiwibit app and tap your Beako™ feeder on the Home screen. This opens the live stream. To exit, tap the "X" in the top-left corner.
Why is there a red dot next to some videos?
A red dot indicates a new or unread event in your activity list.
Can I view Beako™ from a web browser instead of the app?
At this time, live view and recordings are available only through the Kiwibit app.
Hardware, Mounting & Power
Does Beako™ come with a mounting pole?
No. The feeder does not include a mounting pole.
Beako™ is compatible with standard 1-inch mounting poles, which can be purchased separately.
Is the Beako™ feeder waterproof?
Yes. Beako™ is designed for outdoor use and is rated IP65 for water resistance. It is also UV resistant for long-term outdoor exposure.
What is the USB cable used for?
The USB cable is used for charging the feeder's battery.
Warranty
Is my Beako™ feeder under warranty?
Yes. Beako™ includes a one-year limited warranty.
