The ability to use a microSD card with your Kiwibit device lets you enjoy local video storage in addition to cloud-based options. This guide walks you through how to choose, insert, manage, and use a microSD card with your Kiwibit device.
How Local and Cloud Storage Work Together
When a microSD card is properly inserted into your Kiwibit device, any motion detected will trigger the recording of video footage, which is saved to the SD card. Once the card is full, the system will automatically overwrite the oldest files.
To use motion-triggered recording, however, cloud storage must be enabled. This is because enabling Motion Detection automatically activates cloud-based analysis, even if you prefer to store footage locally.
In this setup:
- Footage is recorded to both the cloud and the microSD card.
- You can view cloud videos anytime, from anywhere.
- SD card videos can be accessed in the app as long as your device is online.
This dual-storage method offers convenience, security, and full control over your video content.
